Writing Update

I'm checking in to let you know what's going on with my work in progress. I'd been toying with the idea of writing a collection of three short stories for the holidays, but Jessie's brother Jed has totally taken over! So instead, I'm writing a Firsts and Forever holiday novella for him and the plan is to publish it in late December. Actually, the plan is to publish it the moment it's done, but at this rate, late December is most likely.

The novella is called Comfort and Joy, and it's a very sweet opposites attract love story. We met Jed back in The Distance, which is his brother Jessie's story. Jed has now graduated with his MBA and is working in an office in San Francisco. He's very serious and career-oriented, and what he really needs is to learn to relax and have fun.

That's where his love interest comes in. Dakota is a smoking hot, tattooed bar owner who doesn't take himself, or anything else, too seriously. He's a new character, so you'll be meeting Dakota at the same time that Jed does.

The Dombruso family, along with Jessie and Kai and several of your favorite couples, are all heading to a ski lodge in the Sierras for Christmas. But on his way there, an ice storm strands Jed in Dakota's cozy mountain cabin for a very fun weekend, and sparks fly. Once he finally makes it to the lodge, there will be holiday hijinks with Nana and the gang.

My goal with this book is a sweet, fun holiday romance with low angst. Think Hallmark plus Heat. I'll be doing a cover reveal on Saturday here on my blog and in my Facebook reader's group, Alexa's Land, so be sure to drop by and check it out.
