Coming Soon

Second Act was uploaded to Amazon on April 28th, and now it's just a waiting game to see when it goes live. I'll post the link here as soon as it's available.

Follow-up:

It's now April 30th and the book is still listed as "in review" on my Amazon page. There's no way of knowing when Amazon will actually get to it, so all we can do is wait and hope it won't be much longer.

Follow-up #2:

It's May 3rd now, and the book is still showing as "in review" on my Amazon page. I contacted Amazon customer service, but they don't have an answer on how long it'll be before it goes live. I'll post an update as soon as I have some news.

Here's the blurb while we wait:

After pursuing my big break in Hollywood for more than a decade, I’ve finally landed the role of a lifetime. The only downside--it happened just as sweet, gorgeous Lorenzo and I were taking the first tentative steps from friendship to so much more. Our brand-new relationship barely had a chance to get off the ground, and now the pressures of my new-found success are coming at us from every angle.

Can I really have it all? Or will chasing fame and fortune end up costing me the man of my dreams?

This age gap, opposites attract gay romance begins the brand new His Chance Series. It’s set in the same world as Alexa Land’s Firsts and Forever and Castaways Series, but you don’t need to be familiar with any of those books to enjoy this one.

Cover Reveal

My work in progress is called Second Act, and it'll be out in late April (exact date to be announced).

Here's an early look at the cover, which is by designer Angsty G. This book begins a series set in the Firsts and Forever/Castaways universe. That's Will on the cover, who we met in Keeping Secrets. Each book is written as a stand-alone, but longtime readers will recognize some familiar characters in supporting roles.

Checking In

Apologies for slacking on my blog lately!

I've been in lockdown with my teenager for over four weeks now, but I'm adapting to this new normal and have been working on a book called Second Act. This is Will and Lorenzo's story. They're two characters we met briefly in The Castaways Series.

Will is around 30, and he's Beck's friend from Keeping Secrets. He's been trying to launch his acting career for a decade, and is ready to give up at the start of the story.

Lorenzo is around 40, and he's a widowed veterinarian who's not sure if he's ready to move on. He's Ren's friend, and we met him in Starting Over.

These two just sort of gravitated together, and they jumped the line in terms of all the stories I'm planning to write. :) I love their sweetness, and the fact that this is a very gentle, low-angst love story. It's what I need to be writing in these uncertain times, and I hope it'll bring you happiness when reading it.

The book should be out at the end of April, and I plan to have a cover reveal for you in just a couple of days if everything goes to plan.

Until then, please take care and stay healthy.

Free Story for Newsletter Subscribers!

This is the cover of the exclusive, free short story I'll be sending out with my newsletter for Valentine's Day. It's three chapters long, and it's a sweet little slice-of-life check-in with Quinn and Duke from Take a Chance on Me, book 15 in the Firsts and Forever Series (that's Duke on the cover). If you're not already receiving my newsletter, you can sign up here. I'm anticipating sending it out on Sunday, February 9th.

Looking Ahead to 2020

A sincere thank you to all my readers for being there throughout 2019! I'm not the fastest writer out there, but I'm proud of the fact that I produced four new books this year. I also re-edited Feral and The Tinder Chronicles, learned a new software program to make my book interiors look nice, and moved The Firsts and Forever Series into KU, where it found a new audience.
As for what's ahead in 2020, my plan is to write a couple of books set in the Firsts universe, which can be read as stand-alones but still bring in some of the characters you love in supporting roles. First up is Will and Lorenzo's story. I'm very excited about it, and I'll be revealing more details about it in January.
I also hope to continue my paranormal California Obscura Series with a fated mates story (Mateo's, for those of you who read More Than This). I really have a blast writing paranormal, and I think Mateo is going to be a very fun character!
Beyond that, who knows? I plan to keep following my muse and writing the characters that are speaking to me the loudest. I feel excited and optimistic about the books that will be coming your way in 2020, and I look forward to sharing the journey with you. Happy New Year!

Comfort and Joy is live!

My new holiday novella, Comfort and Joy, is now available! It's part of the Firsts and Forever Series, and it's a lighthearted opposites attract romance.
Links:
The blurb:
Jed and Dakota couldn’t be more different.
One’s an overly cautious, nerdy workaholic who just can’t seem to loosen up. The other’s a hot, tattooed bar owner who doesn’t take anything very seriously.
An undeniable attraction flares between them when they get stuck in a cozy cabin right before the holidays. All too soon though, the storm passes and they’re back out in the real world. There are a million reasons why this should be nothing more than a weekend fling, including the fact that Jed’s life is in San Francisco and Dakota’s is in the Sierras. Plus, Jed’s demanding career doesn’t exactly allow time for a social life.
But when something feels so right, can either man just walk away?
Or will two total opposites figure out how to make it work, despite all the obstacles in their path?
This light-hearted holiday romance is set in the world of Alexa Land’s Firsts and Forever Series. While long-time readers will recognize some familiar faces, this novella can be read as a stand-alone.

Writing Update

I'm checking in to let you know what's going on with my work in progress. I'd been toying with the idea of writing a collection of three short stories for the holidays, but Jessie's brother Jed has totally taken over! So instead, I'm writing a Firsts and Forever holiday novella for him and the plan is to publish it in late December. Actually, the plan is to publish it the moment it's done, but at this rate, late December is most likely.

The novella is called Comfort and Joy, and it's a very sweet opposites attract love story. We met Jed back in The Distance, which is his brother Jessie's story. Jed has now graduated with his MBA and is working in an office in San Francisco. He's very serious and career-oriented, and what he really needs is to learn to relax and have fun.

That's where his love interest comes in. Dakota is a smoking hot, tattooed bar owner who doesn't take himself, or anything else, too seriously. He's a new character, so you'll be meeting Dakota at the same time that Jed does.

The Dombruso family, along with Jessie and Kai and several of your favorite couples, are all heading to a ski lodge in the Sierras for Christmas. But on his way there, an ice storm strands Jed in Dakota's cozy mountain cabin for a very fun weekend, and sparks fly. Once he finally makes it to the lodge, there will be holiday hijinks with Nana and the gang.

My goal with this book is a sweet, fun holiday romance with low angst. Think Hallmark plus Heat. I'll be doing a cover reveal on Saturday here on my blog and in my Facebook reader's group, Alexa's Land, so be sure to drop by and check it out.
